In 1912, Martin Sixt created " Sixt Autofahrten und Selbstfahrer " (Rental of self-drive vehicles).
The company grew steadily throughout the century and in 1998 moved into airports, developing partnerships with a number of airline companies.
Today, Sixt has over 1000 agencies in Europe, 130 in France.
