How can you travel with oversized baggage?



The checked baggage you are allowed to bring in the hold varies depending on your airline, travel class (economy, business or first) and the options associated with your ticket. In general, you are allowed to bring one suitcase weighing up to 23 kg, with total dimensions under 158 cm (height + width + length). Does your baggage exceed these guidelines? Many airlines offer a dedicated service for this type of item. During booking or occasionally at the airport, you can add this option and pay any applicable surcharge.

How can you prepare and protect your oversized baggage? 



Puce-Bleue  To best prepare your oversized baggage, you must first ensure the quality of its packaging, protection and the conditions that apply to its transport. For example, special cases are available to facilitate and secure the transport of skis. Other items like bicycles and scooters may only be transported under certain conditions (removable batteries and parts).  

Puce-Bleue  Next, don’t forget your label! Your full name, telephone number and complete address should be visibly displayed on your label. This will make it easy to identify your baggage in case it is lost or stolen.     

Puce-Bleue  Lastly, consider bringing the original or a copy of the purchase or rental receipt for your equipment. This document will prove that it is not a stolen object if you are asked at customs.

These packages without handles may cause handling problems for our staff or get stuck in our baggage sorting equipment. For this reason, they will be refused by your airline during check-in.

Where should you drop off your oversized baggage prior to departure?



The big day is here! Your ticket is booked and your oversized baggage is packed and labelled in accordance with your airline’s guidelines. You have two solutions for its drop-off:  


If you did not check in online

Proceed first to the appropriate counter for your flight and complete the check-in process. Once you have checked in, you will be directed to the special drop-off area for oversized baggage.             

If you already checked in online

Proceed to the counter marked "Baggage Drop-off", which is located near the other counters. You will then be directed to the special drop-off area for oversized baggage.

How should you collect your oversized baggage upon arrival? 



Just like at drop-off, your oversized baggage receives special treatment. You will be able to collect your item in a special area. Contact the airport staff in the arrivals area to find its exact location.
